I’ve been a professional photographer for 15 years, but I’ve been taking pictures since I was 11 years old. I remember driving with my Dad one day, wondering why he was getting in such a tizz about..."The light, Meg, just look at the light!”
We sped back to the house for his camera and just managed to capture the incredible sky before it slipped back into bleakness. I really didn’t understand what he meant until the film was developed and I was blown away by what we'd captured.
Since then I’ve been obsessed with photography, and sunlight. I take pictures to connect to places and people. Sometimes it still feels as though I’m trying to bottle the light up before it disappears.
My other great fascination is people. I’ve always been a talker, chatting to everyone I come across since I was little. As you’ll see from my portfolio, I love studying and recording human nature in all its form.
After doing my time as a photography assistant (and, yes, it did include being sent for “a long stand” at the photographic suppliers) I went out on my own, initially as a freelance photographic assistant. It was amazing, and gave me a lot of really varied experiences in different parts of the world.
That was in 2001 and here I am, still loving it and shooting for a wide variety of clients, including:
- Barker and Stonehouse
- Dr Oetker
- Keep and Share Knitwear
- Kansai Paint
- Manchester City FC
- Manchester United FC
- Psyched Paddle Boarding
- The Cake Nest
If you’d like to talk about a job, or find out more about me, get in touch. I do love a good chat, whether it’s about photography or not…
